How the calculation works

Protein in chicken per 100g depends on the cut and whether the chicken is measured raw or cooked. This calculator uses the source-backed values for raw, skinless breast; roasted, skinless breast; and roasted, skinless thigh.

Enter the weight of your portion and choose the matching basis. The result scales the selected protein-per-100g value to your serving weight, so it is an estimate rather than a laboratory measurement.

Protein grams = serving grams ÷ 100 × protein grams per 100 g

Food composition values vary with preparation and portion measurement. This tool provides an estimate and is not medical advice.

Protein in chicken calculator FAQ

How much protein is in 100 g of chicken breast?

The source-backed estimate is 22.50 g for raw, skinless chicken breast and 31.02 g for roasted, skinless chicken breast.

How much protein is in 100 g of chicken thigh?

The source-backed estimate is 25.94 g for roasted, skinless chicken thigh. A raw thigh value is not included because the source file does not provide one.

Why does cooked chicken show more protein per 100 g?

The cooked and raw entries are separate composition values. Cooking changes the food's composition per 100 g, so select the basis that matches how you weighed the chicken.

Does this calculator include drumsticks or wings?

No. Drumstick and wing values are not included because the supplied source data does not provide them.

Are my entries saved?

No. The calculation runs in your browser and this tool does not save the values you enter.
